sophie-warwickSophie Warwick is a graduate of the Royal College of Music having gained a first class honours degree and a distinction in her Masters degree. During this time she was a scholar, studying with Vanessa Latarche, Nigel Clayton and Gordon Fergus – Thompson and was supported by the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, the Marylebone Educational Foundation and received a Russell Gander Award and a NOSWAD Charity Study Award.

Whilst at the RCM Sophie developed a passion for chamber music and accompaniment. She has given many recitals with her duo partners in and around London is a founder member of the Sollertinsky Piano Trio who made their St James’s Piccadilly debut in August 2008. The trio have been recently accepted onto the Live Music Now! scheme and are giving concerts around the UK. She has performed with members of the Doric and Harpham Quartets and in October 2008 she performed with duo partner Anna Harpham in the Malcolm Arnold Festival. As an accompanist she has performed in masterclasses with Roger Vignoles, David Owen-Norris, Michael Chance, Jane Manning and Stephen Varcoe.

As a soloist Sophie has been selected to perform in masterclasses with Claude Frank, Dimitri Alexeev and Stephen Savage. Sophie was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Chappell Medal competition at the RCM. Previous prizes include being twice awarded the Gordon Brown Trophy and named the Phillips Young Musician of the Year. She has recently given solo recitals at St Martin–in-the-Fields, St James, Piccadilly, St George Hanover Square, and Waltham Abbey. Sophie made her concerto debut at the age of 18 with the Guildford Symphony Orchestra. In 2007 she was chosen to perform a concerto with the RCM Sinfonietta orchestra where she played Poulenc’s Aubade. She recently gave a performance of Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2 with a new orchestral wind arrangement by Anthony Bailey.
